We all have our duty to perform,
no matter how oppressively it may weigh upon our shoulders.
A mysterious genetic disease may make our shoulders brittle,
and our minds may be gone, but humanity can still shine through
and make us see the world more clearly. We can escape our
destinies. But, in this world, it may mean choosing a path
that ends in death.
This story is a classic existential
dilemma given a dark sci-fi spin. Who am I? What am I doing
here? What does it all mean? It is perfect for a low-budget
treatment, requiring minimal set design. Yet, it gives ample
scope to have some fun with prop design, set dressing and
lighting, while exploring powerful themes of social and genetic
engineering.
Origin: Unknown has all
the hallmarks of the holy grail of low-budget independent
film – intelligent science fiction.
